Both Options Can include Fat grafting:
Silicone Breast Implants: These are the most popular choice by far. Silicone implants are already filled with a highly cohesive gel prior to insertion. They are designed to mimic the look and feel of natural breast tissue and to maintain their shape over time. If the shell of a silicone implant tears, the cohesive gel is designed to remain inside. In the end, silicone implants deliver a relatively natural look and feel if the proportional size is chosen. The FDA approves the use of silicone breast implants for women age 22 or older.
Saline Breast Implants: These implants are inserted into the body empty and filled with sterile salt water once inside. If one of these implant shells leaks, the implant will collapse and the saline will be absorbed by the body. The saline breast implant is still chosen over silicone by several women as these implants also provide a relatively natural look and feel if the proportional size is chosen.

Smooth VS Textured:
Overall, Dr. Fairbanks recommends using the smooth, round implants. The smooth shell allows the implant to move more naturally with your existing breast tissue which not only minimizes ruptures and tears it also provides the softest and most natural feel. The smooth round implants also tend to settle faster in the body. This is an advantage because it creates a more natural looking end result. While smooth implants are the most popular choice, certain circumstances may require the use of textured breast implants. Dr. Fairbanks will be able to help you make the best choice for you during the consultation process.
Round VS Teardrop:
Again, Dr. Fairbanks prefers the smooth, round implants because of the fullness and lift they consistently provide patients while still looking and feeling the most natural. Teardrop Implants are textured and are rarely used by Dr. Fairbanks.

Best Incision Placement:
There are three common incision options: around the nipple, through the armpit, or within the breast crease.
Dr. Fairbanks prefers the inframammary incision, placed within the natural crease beneath the breast.
This approach uses a small, discreet incision beneath the breast.
The same approach can be used when implants need to be replaced.
Best Implant Placement:
Implants may be placed directly beneath the breast tissue when there is adequate tissue coverage.
Dr. Fairbanks prefers placement beneath the pectoralis muscle.

Recovery Info For

Pain Management:
Pain medication is provided to help manage discomfort during the initial days of the recovery period.
Some soreness, swelling, and sensitivity are expected.
Follow your surgeon’s instructions in medications & post-operative care.
Recommended Time Off:
Taking approximately 7 days off work is recommended.
Recovery time may vary depending on your individual procedure.
Activity Restrictions:
Avoid strenuous physical activity for 6 weeks.
Heavy lifting should be avoided during the healing process.
For fat grafting, take extra care during the first 2 weeks to support the development of a healthy blood supply to the transferred fat.
Post-Operative Milestones:
A surgical bra is provided and should be worn for 7 days.
Sports bras are recommended for approximately 3–4 weeks afterward.
After 30 days, you may generally return to wearing the bras you prefer.
After approximately 3 months, you can get a better idea of your final breast appearance.
Scars can continue to fade and mature for up to 1 year.
